The 4th Birkenhead is a good sized group with high membership numbers. We are a church sponsored group meeting in Prenton in the Scout District of Birkenhead which in turn is in the Scout County of Merseyside.
The group consists of a Beaver Scout Colony, a Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop. The links between all sections are very close enabling us to run a very wide and varied programme.
The 4th Birkenhead is also a very well equipped group with a large selection of camping equipment for both hiking and standing camps.
Every year, the group organises a camp, to which all members of the Cub and Scout sections are invited. Due to the size of the group, this means that camps can have up to fifty people attending, creating a loud and exciting atmosphere!
As well as camp, the sections also take part in many district and county activities and competitions.
All sections members take an active part in fundraising activities for the Group. One of our main fundraisers is the Wirral Scout and Guide Charity Christmas Post.
The skills of the leadership team in the group is wide and varied allowing us to deliver such activities as canoeing, climbing, dragon boating, orienting, hiking and mountaineering as well as many creative and less energetic activities.
