District Backwoods Cooking Competition

Congratulations to the Paul, Matty-Moo, Dan, Dale, Matthew and Nathan, on coming 3rd in this competition. [more details]

 

District Orienteering Competition

Well done to Paul and Daniel who came 3rd in the 1st ever District Scouts orienteering competition. [more details]

 

Two District St. George's Day Service

A big thank you to David, Scott and Dale who carried and escorted the District St. George's and Union flags at the St. George's Day service on Sunday 25th April, and thank you to the other Scouts and Cubs who came along for the service.

 

County 999 Competition

Well done to Peter, Jonathan, James, Dale and Matty-Moo for representing the District at the recent County 999 Competition, a good day was had by all.

District 999 Winners

Well done to Peter, Jonathan and James who attended the recent District 999 competition and won. They now have the opportunity to represent the District at the County competition. [more details]

 

Marathon Challenge Success

The Scouts recently completed a number of challenges based around the number 26 in to raise funds for 'CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA' and the troop. Well done to all who completed their challenge. [more details]

 

New Patrol

The Scout Troop now has a third Patrol. The Wolves were named by a vote of all new Patrol members. Well done to Paul & Liam who have become PL & APL respectively. Also well done to Jonathan on taking Paul's place as APL of Eagles.

 

Awards

Congratulations to all Scouts who received either their Outdoor or Outdoor Plus Challenge recently! You all worked very hard last year and I hope will strive to achieve just as much again this year!

 

 

2003

Closed For Christmas

The group officially closes for the Christmas period at the end of the section meetings on Monday 15th December 2003 and re-opens on Monday 12th January 2004. However we will still be delivering Christmas Post on the weekend of 20/21 December and would like as much help as possible. Speak to your section Leader if you can lend a hand.

 

Good Bye

The Troop said goodbye to two of it's members recently as they moved on to Explorer Scouts. Thank you to all the Explorers who came to run the Troop night and accept Gareth and Craig into the Explorer Scout Units. Come back and visit anytime boys!

 

IT Badge

All members of the group who have access to a computer and the internet at home or at school can now do most of the requirements for the IT Badge stage 1 or 2 on their own. [visit IT Badge page for details]

 

Troop Welcomes 3 New Scouts

The Scout Troop welcomed three new members recently, one from our Cub Pack, one from a different Cub Pack and one who had never been in Scouting before. Welcome to Matthew, Daniel and Michael. [visit Troop pages for photos]

 

Remembrance Service

All members of the group and their families are invited to attend our Remembrance day service at Prenton War memorial on Sunday 9th November. Meet at our church at 10.15 in full uniform.

 

Swimming Gala

Well done to all those who attended the Swimming Gala on Sunday 2nd November. Our Group came 3rd overall in the joint Cub and Scout trophy.

Website Downtime (10/10/03)

In the next couple of days the website will be going off line for routine maintenance. It should be back up early next week! Any questions contact me.

Scouts Hike Weekend Cancelled

Unfortunately the hiking weekend has had to be cancelled due to last minute complications. The Scout Leaders will instead run a day hike. [visit the troop pages for more details]

Scouts Plus Scheme Launched

Cubs Winning Team

Congratulations to the team who represented the 4th Birkenhead Cub Scouts for winning the District 5 - A - Side Football competition.

Scouts Come Third
